OUTLINE
LECTURES
Week 9: Digital Surrealism
- Realism VS Surrealism
- Realism - Takes subject matters of the ordinary and common world which we call "reality." It almost always takes a non-exotic and non-extraordinary subject matter and theme. There is no need to think outside of the box, as that is not "real."
- Surrealism - A twist on Realism. It explores the subconscious mind, with subject matters concentrating on dream-images and often aims to distort the ordinary and what we call reality.
- Dadaism - An anti war art movement with art works that is satirical and nonsensical in nature.
- Digital Surrealism - a cultural movement focused on type of arts to express about the artist’s idea themselves.

I plan to utilize objects with similar shapes or those inspired by the references mentioned earlier. Here are the objects I discovered in my dorm along with the ideas for each group of objects.
3) Spectacles and Pens - I consider creating a combination of pens to serve as the temples for spectacles. I find this to be an interesting fusion due to the similar shapes which both being thin and elongated.
