TASK 1 - THEMATIC INTERACTIVE WEBSITE PROPOSAL

BACK TO OUTLINE

In this task, you'll create a thematic interactive website that focuses on a specific theme or concept. The site should incorporate engaging multimedia elements—such as videos, animations, interactive graphics, and clickable components—to encourage user interaction. Your website should create a dynamic, immersive experience to maintain user interest and engagement. Themes can vary, such as educational topics, cultural events, promotional campaigns, or product launches. For example, you could design a virtual museum tour, an interactive movie universe, or a simulated exhibition. The goal is to captivate users through interactive exploration.

Requirements:

Students are required to develop a proposal for a thematic interactive website on a topic of their choice, which can be based on:

1. A specific product launch or special release from a brand (e.g., a new Nike shoe, a Sephora compact powder).

2. A movie promotion.

3. A game release promotion.

4. A gallery or museum exhibit launch.

5. A band or artist's latest release.

6. Any other concept they choose (subject to approval by the module coordinator).

I have chosen to create a thematic interactive website proposal focusing on either movies or a product. I have provided five topic ideas, each with website and visual references. My movie topics include Harry Potter, The Greatest Showman, La La Land, and Divergent, as well as a product option featuring BT21.

Draft Proposal

I have decided to proceed with a Harry Potter-themed website, focusing on the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. For each house, I will cover five key aspects: symbol, colour, characteristics, background story, and key characters.

Week 2: -

Week 3:

Mr. Shamsul conducted a feedback session where he reviewed our progress and the five topics chosen for the draft proposal. He suggested that I proceed with my first topic, Harry Potter, as I am more connected to it, and it offers plenty contents that are able to do for the website. I decided to focus on the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. Mr. Shamsul also recommended that I discuss each house's symbol, colour, background story, characteristics, and key characters. He then advised me to move forward with the final proposal slides and begin planning the wireframes for the Harry Potter website.

Week 4:

Mr. Shamsul provided feedback on my wireframes where he advising me to change the section name "About Us" since it doesn't suit the content I plan to include, such as Harry Potter's merchandise store and other related websites. However, he said the rest of the wireframe looks fine overall.

REFLECTION

BACK TO OUTLINE

In Task 1, I had the opportunity to explore various themed websites, which allowed me to delve into different types of thematic interactive websites and gain inspiration for creating my own. Additionally, I was able to experiment with designing a thematic interactive website, where I explored potential topics and learned more about those that interested me. In class, I also developed Adobe Animate skills, focusing on the Tweening feature, where I created simple animations such as a bouncing ball, a car moving along a path, and a person walking.
