REFLECTION
Throughout the Project 1A exercises, I had the opportunity to enhance my
understanding of the fundamentals of composition. I utilized recycled
items, including old magazines and a UNIQLO catalogue, to craft a physical
collage. This involved cutting out images from the recycled items and
applying the knowledge gained from lectures on basic composition
principles such as focal point, white space, scale & hierarchy, and
balancing elements. In the digital collage exercise, I learned to use
Adobe Photoshop tools to composite various images into a cohesive final
output.
In the Project 1B exercises, I learned to employ various tools in Adobe
Photoshop, including Quick Selection Tools, Brush Tools, Pen Tools, Layer
Mask Tools, Marquee Tools, and Refine Edge Brush Tools. Skillfully using
these tools enhanced my ability to accomplish tasks more effectively. This
exercise also contributed to the development of my skills and techniques,
particularly in tasks like recolouring black and white portraits.
